With back-to-back weeks blocking field goal attempts, the fifth-year player is a real threat at the line of scrimmage.
Texans head coach Bill O'Brien called Blackson "one of those fabric guys" who has played well all year.
With the Texans leading 10-0 in the first quarter against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Saturday, Blackson blocked Matt Gay's 54-yard field goal attempt, which was recovered by linebacker Zach Cunningham.
Blackson had done the same on a Ryan Succop 45-yard attempt in the first quarter against the Titans. The Texans won the game by three points (24-21).
Indeed, he did.
"He does a good job. He's got the skillset to do that," O'Brien said Monday. "He's really strong, so he can really get himself into the backfield on takeoff, and then he's got the length to be able to rise up and block it. To do that two weeks in a row, that's very, very good."
