(SportsRadio 610) -- The Texans are working on a contract to make David Culley their next head coach after an extensive second interview with the Ravens' wide receivers coach, according to the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
NFL insider John McClain reported Wednesday evening that Culley had emerged as the favorite in Houston's search.
Culley and Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier were finalists for the Texans' head coaching vacancy, the only one left after seven jobs opened up this hiring season.
They are also the only two candidates two interview twice with first-year general manager Nick Caserio.
Frazier's second interview with the team was held Tuesday. Culley interviewed for a second time Wednesday.
Culley is staying overnight in Houston for additional meetings with the Texans, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Tim Kelly is expected to remain on staff as the offensive coordinator.
