It's very clear Jack Easterby is not very well liked in Houston.
Just this week, former Texans greats Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins publicly voiced their displeasure with Easterby, noting things haven't gone well for the organization since he came to Houston.
Appearing on Dale & Keefe Thursday, NBC Sports' Peter King said he believes Easterby will not last much longer.
“I think they will get rid of him," he said. "I think it was really an interesting sign — I don’t even know how many people know this — that Jack Easterby basically was told not to talk to Sports Illustrated when that damning report came out. So when that happens, my feeling is — and again, this is probably an exaggeration — but when I heard that, it reminded me of Scott Pioli in Kansas City when he was being really tarnished by Todd Haley, the former head coach there. They didn’t want him to talk. Well, what happens next? Not long after that, I forget what length of time, but Pioli was gone.
"I think it’s a matter of time before Jack Easterby is gone. As for why it hasn’t happened yet, I don’t know the answer.”
The Sports Illustrated story on Easterby came out in early December.
It is interesting with Nick Caserio being hired as general manager last week and his close relationship with Easterby, so it will be interesting to see how everything plays out.
