Tommy Bahama, meet Darth Vader.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid, not exactly known for his sartorial splendor, was a trending topic on social media during Thursday's night's season opener against the Houston Texans -- all because of his face shield.
The veteran coach donned the clear protective shield in accordance with coronavirus protocols, but it became a nuisance when it appeared to fog up shortly after he put it on prior to kickoff at rainy Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
Reid's face was at times obscured by the mounting condensation, and he said after the game it was just about as uncomfortable as it looked.
"That was brutal," Reid said. "I didn't do very good with that thing."
Reid added that he would get it straightened out moving forward. A defroster perhaps?
The unfortunate episode spawned all kinds of memes.
Reid had the last laugh, however, as his Chiefs picked up where the left off in Super Bowl LIV, coasting to an easy win over the Texans in Kansas City.
