- Athens brewery Creature Comforts found a solution to help the community while keep their staff employed. Creature comforts are producing and bottling hand sanitizer. It comes in 16.9-ounce bottles that are traditionally used for cold beer and sell for $8.49 each. Proceeds help keep the staff paid and a portion goes towards the Get Comfortable Fund, which benefits local Athens non profits. In just 5 days, the brewery sold or donated more than 2,400 bottles. - Unfortunately, the Atlanta Ballet had to cancel their summer season as a result of the CoronaVirus, however, The Nutcracker will return in November with tickets going on sale this May. The costume designers are using their newfound free time to make masks for healthcare workers and they need your help. Since the Atlanta Ballet is a Non Profit and they are still keeping the staff on payroll – donations are needed for supplies to make the masks, caps and overall needs for the medical community. - Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale county Health Departments will open a large drive-through test site at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers. An appointment is required but a referral from a doctor is not necessary and are performed at no cost to the individual. - Falcons Defensive End Dante Folwer has donated $100,000 to the #AtlStrong Fund, which is a partnership between the city and United Way of Greater Atlanta. This supports residents who are facing economic hardships caused by COVID19. For moreinformation on #AtlStrong check out their webpage HERE
