AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- We're following the latest coronavirus updates from local health officials from across Central Texas, for August 8:

Travis County: 122 new cases and 3 new deaths were reported Saturday, bringing the total number of cases to 22,602 with 298 deaths. An estimated 21,145 cases have recovered, leaving 1,159 active cases - a decrease of 152 from Friday.

275 patients are hospitalized across the five county metro area - a decrease of 4 from Friday - with 96 in intensive care and 75 on ventilators. It's the first time the number of ICU patients has been under 100 since June 23.

43 new hospital admissions were reported Saturday, with the 7-day moving average of new hospitalizations at 35.

Bastrop County: 8 new cases were reported Saturday by DSHS, pushing the total number of cases to 1,358 with 21 deaths. 

Caldwell County: 14 new cases were reported Saturday by DSHS, bringing the total number of cases to 1,136 with 26 deaths. 

Hays and Williamson Counties have stopped reporting data on weekends. Their next update will be available on Monday.

State of Texas: 6,959 new cases were reported Saturday, pushing the total number of statewide cases to 481,483. 247 new fatalities were reported Saturday, for a total of 8,343 statewide deaths. Hospitalizations across the state continue on a downward trend, with 7,872 patients hospitalized - a decrease of 193 from Friday.
