
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The entire Kansas City area is included in a Winter Storm Warning that has been issued by the National Weather Service. The warning begins at 6 p.m. Friday and continues through 9 p.m. Saturday.
The forecast for Friday calls for rain, which is expected to begin to freeze after 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. Precipitation will turn into a wintry mix or freezing rain and sleet, then switch to snow during the overnight hours into Saturday.
Road conditions could remain dangerous on Sunday, when large numbers of football fans will head to Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs' 2:05 p.m. playoff game against the Houston Texans.
