Who's hiring? Big box outfits look to hire thousands

Kansas City, MO -  If you're out of work or just want to make some extra dough, there are job openings out there.

Several large retail, distribution and delivery companies with warehouse facilities and stores in the Kansas City Metro are looking to hire, even amid the constrictions on the economy caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Home Depot is hiring about 80,000 people for full and part time positions across the country, and are wanting to fill 280 positions in Kansas City to work in stores and at its distribution center.

Home Depot spokesman Dave White says they're offering weekly bonuses of $100 for full-time & $50 for part-time. Overtime is paid double.

Other large competitors that have announced a hiring push:  Lowe's and Ace Hardware are looking to hire 30,000 each; Amazon - 100,000; Walmart - 150,000.

Also, CVS, Walgreens, Target and Tractor Supply have all said they're wanting to fill numerous positions.

And with all of that freight requiring delivery, both UPS and FedEx have said they're hiring as well.
