No Evgeny Kuznetsov. No T.J. Oshie. No Brooks Orpik. No problem

The Washington Capitals won their second game in less than 24 hours with a 5-3 comeback win over the New York Rangers.

What a win for the #Caps! They finished last night at 640ish. Traveled to #NYC. Took on a young, fast team w/ very little time in-between. Backup goaltender. Slow start. Have won 5 in a row w/out Kuzy, Oshie & Orpik who has been out longer. Man. The #StanleyCup Champs are rollin!

Down 2-0 in the second period, the Capitals began their rally with a goal from Nic Dowd on a redirect of a John Carlson shot before Jakob Vrana turned on the jets and netted his sixth goal on the season.

Alex Ovechkin's 17th goal of the season gave the Caps a 3-2 lead entering the third period.

After a Ryan Strome goal leveled the score, John Carlson tallied his third assist of the day as Brett Connolly put Washington up for good.

Tom Wilson, who is on fire since returning from his suspension, grabbed an empty net goal from deep in the Caps' defensive zone.

Washington is now 6-1-0 since Wilson returned to the lineup.

In front of their dads and mentors, the defending Stanley Cup champions are beginning to look like the Stanley Cup champions again.
