The Nationals continue to lead the way in their ongoing efforts to help the D.C. area combat COVID-19 with relief efforts.
Jeff McKay, Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, says Nationals pitcher Patrick Corbin donated 500 N-95 masks to the Fairfax County Health Department.
"I am grateful for his help in making sure we protect our workers from this virus," McKay writes on Twitter.
No Kid Hungry – a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America – and Nationals Philanthropies each issued matching grants of $25K to each school disctrict.
"These funds will help Fairfax County and Prince George's County Public Schools make sure kids stay nourished," the Nationals said in a press release. "Combined, the school districts will serve approximately 35,000 meals a day through curbside pick-up, pop-up meal sites and bus route delivery."
The Nationals have been at the forefront of COVID-19 relief since the pandemic first struck the area. Together, the Nationals and 106.7 The Fan raised nearly $44K in donations to the Nats4Good Community Response Fund in April, thanks to the gracious generosity of our 106.7 The Fan listeners.
In trying times like these, it's heartwarming to see people coming together for the common good of humanity.
