The Redskins have acquired safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in a trade with Green Bay ahead of the NFL's 4 p.m. trade deadline.

106.7 The Fan's Craig Hoffman confirms the Redskins are sending a 2019 fourth-round pick to the Packers in the deal.

Washington now has the top two safeties in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.

Coincidentally, those safety ratings were a bone of contention for Redskins safety D.J. Swearinger over the weekend. Swearinger called it "disrespectful" of PFF to rank him first, but use Clinton-Dix's photo, which he spoke at length about here.

Clinton-Dix, 25, will be a free agent at the end of the 2018 season. He was a first-round pick (21st overall) out of Alabama in 2014. He's recorded 27 combined tackles -- one tackle for loss -- and one sack with three interceptions and three passes defensed for Green Bay this season. He's also forced one fumble. He has 14 interceptions and 25 passes defensed in five NFL seasons. He's started 65 of his 71 games played.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden didn't expect to make any trades before the deadline, although he did say "we'll entertain offers and all that stuff."

Much love y’all --
