The Washington Nationals announced a partnership with BetMGM and plan to open a sportsbook at Nationals Park beginning this season.
The team announced Monday the multi-year partnership would include the launch of a mobile app for fans to place bets from within the area around Nats Park, in addition to the sportsbook on the stadium grounds.
"The BetMGM mobile app will enable our fans to engage with the game in new and exciting ways, while the BetMGM Sportsbook connected to Nationals Park will provide Nationals fans and the D.C. community with a first-class gathering place to celebrate their passion for sports together," Alan Gottlieb, Chief Operating Officer of Lerner Sports Group, said in the press release.
The sportsbook will replace the Center Field Social space, which is across from the Nationals Team Store outside of the center-field gate.
However, the sportsbook will not be accessible to fans who are attending Nats games. For those in attendance, bets can only be made via BetMGM’s mobile app, according to the press release.
“This new partnership with the Nationals is our most in-depth partnership with a team and showcases the multitude of ways we’re able to engage fans in and out of stadiums,” said Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer. “We’re extremely excited to work together to create unique experiences for Nationals fans and the broader D.C. metro area during and after games.”
