Since the Capitals won the franchise's first Stanley Cup last summer, fans have been chanting for Washington to go "back to back" in 2019.
And according to the latest odds, there's a good chance it becomes a reality.

Per Jeff Sherman, the Caps are now 5/1 favorites to hoist the Stanley Cup again, the Golden Knights second at 6/1, the Bruins third at 7/1 with four other teams — Flames, Blue Jackets, Blues and Barry Trotz's Islanders — sitting not far behind at 10/1 odds.

With the Presidents' Trophy winners Tampa Bay Lightning (14/1) now in a 3-0 hole against Columbus, the reigning champs have risen to the top of the pack.

There's still plenty of work to do before they hoist the trophy again, but with a 2-0 series lead over the Carolina Hurricanes (60/1), the Caps are in great position to advance to the second round and possibly beyond.
