CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Students at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences are getting ready to deliver 300 Thanksgiving meals to senior citizens tomorrow on the South Side.
This is the eighth year that students at the school, which has a working farm, have made Thanksgiving dinners for the elderly. But this year, because of the pandemic, they are delivering those dinners.
One of the student chefs is 17-year-old senior Evan Calhoun, who also helped cook Thanksgiving dinner last year.
He said after he graduates in June, he wants to get a college degree in food science. Calhoun says he enjoys cooking for others, “seeing people become happy and get in a holiday spirit.”
