The questions came pouring in about the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers following the Green Bay Packers 31-26 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship game.
Rodgers, 37, remains under contract with the Packers through 2023 but his future with the franchise was put into question after they drafted quarterback Jordan Love with the 26th pick in the 2020 draft.
Will the Packers move on from him? The Detroit Lions organization is reportedly seeking a trade from their long-term quarterback, Matt Stafford, this offseason so it's possible Green Bay could do the same with Rodgers.
Here is a list of quarterbacks Randy McMichael of The Midday Show said could/are likely to move on this offseason:
Deshaun Watson, Texans: It's been reported that no matter who the new Houston head coach is, Watson wants OUT of there.
Matthew Stafford, Lions: Detroit is actively seeking a trade for the quarterback this off-season, according to multiple reports.
Aaron Rodgers, Packers: Following his team's loss in the NFC Championship game, Rodgers said the following: "[The Packers have] a lot of guys' futures that are uncertain -- myself included."
Matt Ryan, Falcons: A lot has been made of Ryan's contract and whether the new regime would consider trading him to create cap space, or even draft their quarterback of the future.
Carson Wentz, Eagles: After firing head coach Doug Pederson, there were reports that Wentz not playing was part of that reason. We'll see if new head coach Nick Sirianni will be forced to play Wentz or will continue with Jalen Hurts.
Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers: After missing chunks of time due to injury, San Francisco could likely be in the market for a new QB and save $24.1 million of cap space in the process.
Dak Prescott, Cowboys: Prescott is back in free agency this off-season but whether Dallas uses the franchise tag, yet again, is still on the table. It'll be interesting to see if these two sides can come to a long-term agreement.
Jameis Winston, Saints: With Drew Brees likely entering retirement, New Orleans will need to find their quarterback of the future. Will Winston remain there until they find the right fit, or will he look to hop onto another team?
