CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — It started with a run on hand-sanitizer and face masks. Then it was toilet paper and paper towels.

“The third week was really interesting,” says analyst Phil Lempert, founder of Supermarket Guru in Los Angeles. “That’s when we saw pasta, pasta sauces, canned goods, a lot of frozen foods” flying off the shelves.

Now it's hair-care products that are hot, as peoples’ gray roots start to show.

“I also think we’re going to see a lot of bad hair, both with people buying their own clippers, trying to cut their own hair as well as dye their own hair,” Lempert said.
