CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The latest monitoring statistics for cancer-causing ethylene oxide has residents and the community's mayor concerned.
To say that Willowbrook mayor Frank Trilla is concerned about the 20 percent increase in ethylene oxide emissions is an understatement.
Trilla says he's committed to test alongside the EPA until there is a solution. Former Sterigenics worker Mike Morales tells CBS 2 it cannot happen quickly enough.
The state has halted operations temporarily. Trilla wants the EPA, the governor and the Illinois attorney general's office to act to make the suspension permanent.
