(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An Orland Park public aquatic center was closed Thursday for deep cleaning after a lifeguard tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, officials said.

The lifeguard last worked at Centennial Park Aquatic Center (CPAC) on Sunday Aug. 9. Now that employee is self-quarantining, the village said in an online news release.

“Although the lifeguard who tested positive has not been in the building since August 9, the CPAC is being closed for one day for additional sanitizing and disinfection out of an abundance of caution,” the village said.

CPAC reopened July 2, with restrictions, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
