(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A west suburban school district has announced revised plans for the beginning of the school year.
Wheaton Warrenville School District 200 Supt. Jeff Schuler said the system is changing course on its fall reopening plan. It will start the year remotely for middle school and high school students, he said in an announcement posted online.
Meantime, early-childhood, elementary and specialized-curriculum students will be able to attend in-person classes, with modified schedules.
Administrators are also recommending to the school board that the school year be pushed back to Sept. 1.
Schuler said new Illinois health guidelines have prompted the changes.
