A native of Joliet, Rick Gregg attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and began his professional radio career at WJPF in Carterville, Illinois. There, he handled morning drive news, pregame/postgame/halftime duties for SIU football and basketball, and a whole lot of high school play by play.
Rick then moved to Chicago, where he served many stations in the midwest as a news, sports and traffic anchor before joining WBBM in the spring of 2010. Here, he’s covered all of Chicago’s major sports teams, most notably anchoring coverage of the Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup win and the Cubs’ trip to the NLCS in 2015.
He also won the Illinois Associated Press "Best Sports Reporting" honor in 2016. Rick and his wife, Jamie, reside in Romeoville. They are incredibly proud of their two children, Jacob and Lauren.
