Calling all “Friends” fans: Here's some news that will perk you up.
A ‘Friends’-themed pop up is set to open this week on Michigan Avenue.
The "Friends Experience" is a two-story exhibit with 12 interactive rooms that highlight iconic scenes from the show. Visitors will be able to hang out in Rachel and Monica’s kitchen, on Chandler and Joey’s recliners or have a cup of coffee at Central Perk.
Spokesperson Anna Blake says the ‘90s sitcom is considered comfort food for people who grew up with the series, and now a new generation is experiencing it for the first time.
“It’s a celebration of when your friends become your family, and I think we can all relate to that,” she says. “I think with ‘Friends’ being available now on streaming, so many new fans have been able to access it.”
Tickets are on sale now, portions of the proceeds go to Chicago's My Block, My Hood My City organization.
The exhibit is in Chicago through Jan. 3.
