(670 The Score) The Bears on Thursday were without star pass rusher Khalil Mack (ankle), top receiver Allen Robinson (concussion) and several other key players for a second straight day as they continued preparations for their game against the Saints on Sunday.

Mack is dealing with an ankle ailment that he appeared to suffer in the third quarter of a loss to the Rams on Monday on a play in which he grabbed at his lower left leg after going down awkwardly. Robinson remains in the concussion protocol after a hit in the fourth quarter of that game.

The Bears would be losing key production on both sides of the football without Mack and Robinson. Mack leads the Bears with 5.5 sacks this season. Robinson is their leading receiver with 44 catches for 544 yards and two touchdowns.

The Bears were also missing center Cody Whitehair (calf) and running back Cordarrelle Patterson (quad) in practice Thursday. Safety Eddie Jackson (knee) and safety Sherrick McManis (hamstring) were both limited.

Saints star receiver Michael Thomas (ankle/hamstring) returned to practice Thursday as a limited participant.

The Bears will release their final injury report of the week Friday afternoon. They host the Saints on Sunday at Soldier Field, with kickoff scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CT.
