Amherst, NY (WBEN) - Brooklyn Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio is again in Western New York as part of the apostolic visitation to the Diocese of Buffalo.

According to a WGRZ-TV report, DiMarzio was seen conducting interviews at the Marriott hotel in Amherst on Tuesday.

"We always knew that there would be multiple visits, I think this is his second visit to Buffalo, a couple of days at a time. I would not be surprised if there are more visits like it," said James Faluszczak, an abuse victim and former priest who has been one of the most outspoken critics of the Diocese.

Just because DiMarzio is here, Faluszczak said not to expect protests outside where the interviews are taking place.

"I want to see what Bishop DiMarzio and what this apostolic visitation might accomplish," Faluszczak said. "I've taken a back seat to that investigation and I'd like to just see the church do the right thing."

When the investigation is complete, DiMarzio will submit his findings to the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church in Vatican City.

“I pledge I will keep an open mind throughout the process and do my best to learn the facts and gain a thorough understanding of the situation in order to fulfill the mandate of this apostolic visitation,” DiMarzio said in a previous statement.
