Buffalo, NY (WBEN) In light of weekend shootings in El Paso and Dayton, there are questions about whether New York needs more gun control laws.
State Senator Patrick Gallivan says no. "In New York, we already have among the toughest gun laws in the country. I don't know if any additional laws are warranted," says Gallivan.
Gallivan spent decades as a law enforcer with the New York State Police and as Erie County Sheriff before entering politics
Gallivan suggests intervention techniques for teachers, to identify signs of problems and reporting them to proper authorities, and schools prepare in the event of a mass shooting.
