Brandon Beane Joining Local COVID-19 Relief Efforts

BUFFALO (WBEN) - While most Western New Yorkers love what Brandon Beane has done with the Bills on the field, the general manager is now trying to make a difference off of it.

Beane has teamed up with United Way to set up a community response fund to the COVID-19 outbreak as he's donating $20,000, but he's also reaching out the to community in a unique way to help provide more funding to frontline responders.

"When you sit here and this is slapping you in the face every day, sometimes you feel helpless, and I found myself like, 'What can you do?" said Beane in an interview with WGR550 on Monday morning.

Aside from the initial donation to the WNY COVID-19 Community Response Fund, Beane is also encouraging Bills Mafia to help donate whatever they're able, and he's including some pretty cool incentives to those who do.

People can donate or sign up to win new sweepstakes by going to between now and April 17, and seven entrants will be randomly selected to win experiences with the Bills or with Beane himself.

  • One winner will have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be on the phone as Beane calls in Buffalo's first draft pick (tentatively April 24).
  • One winner will participate in an exclusive one-on-one Zoom Q&A with him. *****
  • One winner and three guests will enjoy lunch with Beane and a tour of the ADPRO Sports Training Center. *****
  • One winner will join Beane at a Bills practice. *****
  • One winner will get four (4) 100 level tickets to the Bills 2020 home opener.
  • One winner will receive a collectible Bills helmet autographed by each of the team's 2020 NFL Draft selections.
  • One winner will be awarded an autographed Josh Allen jersey.

"What could I do beyond just making a donation to get others to jump in?" asked Beane. "With the help of some others...they really helped come up with some good ideas - things that fans wouldn't normally have the opportunity to do."
