BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Heritage Carousel took its next step in construction with the placing of a timber beam atop the Canalside structure.
The carousel, a long-planned project at the edge of the boardwalk and next to the arena, will be solar-powered. It will be meant for use by families with organizers of the carousel hoping that it can also provide education about the use of natural resources to power everyday activities.
"We are so excited about making sure the community sees progress," Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul said at Wednesday's ceremony. "I think as we emerge from these dark days that people see glimmers of light and glimmers of hope. This project symbolizes that."
