NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WBEN) - Niagara County has 65 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of Wednesday morning.

The county total rose by nine from Tuesday. There are no reported deaths in Niagara County, though the county announced that 15 people are hospitalized with the virus.

There are 39 people who are at home with the disease. Eleven have completely recovered.

Both the Town of Wheatfield and City of Niagara Falls have 14 cases.

In her daily update, Niagara County Legislative Chairwoman Rebecca Wydysh affirmed the numbers we previously reported.

Personal protective equipment remains a need for health officials. Emergency Services Director Jonathon Schultz said they are only receiving about five percent of the necessary equipment needed for health care workers. A shipment came in on Tuesday night and Niagara County is expecting another shipment of N95 masks to arrive in another two or three weeks from sources.

"We have placed orders for isolation masks as well and gloves and gowns and face shields to try and get a surplus going to help meet the needs of the community," Schultz said. "Unfortunately, it's not being met."
