North Tonawanda, NY (WBEN) - Police in North Tonawanda say they have arrested two people in connection with a Wednesday night robbery, but have not indicated if the pair have been involved in a string of other robberies across the Tonawandas and Amherst.

North Tonawanda police arrested Justin Robert Jenkins and Heather Murray Jenkins in connection with a robbery at the Gulf Express Mart on Main Street that happened just after 7:40 Wednesday night. Both face a felony charge of robbery along with various other charges. Town of Tonawanda Police say they assisted in the arrest.

Both police departments said the investigation is ongoing, and would not comment on if the pair have been involved in a string of over a dozen armed robberies in Amherst, Tonawanda, Kenmore, Wheatfield, and Niagara Falls. At least five different police agencies have been involved in that search. In all of the robberies, a man shows his gun, demands money, and runs away. Most of them have occurred during daylight hours.
