Kaleida remains at an impasse in contract talks with three unions - Communications Workers of America/AFL-CIO, International Union of Operating Engineers and 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East. The 7,200 workers had been working through two extensions since May 31st when talks broke down Friday. A union rep says there are over 30 open issues remaining on the table. Kaleida says its current proposal represents a more than $50 million investment into the workforce. No new talks are scheduled until July 1st.
The Wing Kings are branching out. A second restaurant is coming to 3144 Main Street in the University District across from the Lake Effect Diner. Business First notes the other Wing Kings is at 484 Elmwood Avenue.
