Amherst IDA News

The Amherst IDA is reportedly considering tax breaks for a mixed-use project on Main Street.  According to Business First, developer Paul Bliss would like to put up a three-story at 6790 Main, just west of Transit Road.  The building would have first and second floor apartments and commercial or retail space at street level.  The project is expected to cost $5.6 million.

Also from Business First, a number of restaurant moves have been made:   An LA investor group has purchased the former Ponderosa Steakhouse at 1956 Ridge Road in West Seneca.  Their intent is to bring in a national chain.     A Mineola, New York, investor has purchased a Wendy's restaurant at 2021 Ridge Road in West Seneca.     A midtown New York investment group bought the former Ruby Tuesday's restaurant at 3454 McKinley Parkway in Hamburg.  A Chinese restaurant is pegged for that spot.   Investors Four Labs LLC has acquired the building at 52 Main Street in the City of Tonawanda.  Inside are Coloso Taco and Pizza Express.

Northwest Bancshares, Inc., announcing it suffered a net loss for the quarter ending June 30th of $6.2 million, or five cents per diluted share.  For the same quarter a year ago, Northwest reported net income of  $26.4 million, or twenty-five cents per diluted share.
