BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Members of the Buffalo Police Department, Buffalo Fire Department, and Mayor Byron Brown remembered the victims and heroes of the September 11 terrorist attacks on Tuesday.
"No doubt, many Americans don't remember, or in their minds, the events of September 11, 2001 are beginning to fade," Fire Commissioner Bill Renaldo said. "For first responders everywhere, be it fire service, law enforcement, or military, the memories of the terrorist attacks of 9-11 are fresh in our mind and very vivid. Today, we remember the 343 New York City firefighters and paramedics killed that day. We remember the 23 NYPD officers and the 37 Port Authority officers, as well as the 125 civilian and military personnel killed at the Pentagon that day."
