With 110 mph winds, Hurricane Zeta is barreling through Louisiana.
By Wednesday evening, Zeta’s devastation included flooding, power outages and the destruction of multiple structures.
In a new video, the Category 2 hurricane’s force can be clearly seen as it completely tore off the roof of a home in Chalmette.
The video, shared by WINK News meteorologist Dylan Federico and attributed to Taylor Blanchard, shows as wind gusts rip off the top of the residence, while onlookers scream in horror in the background.
It’s unclear if anyone was inside the home or if anyone was injured.
Since making landfall earlier in the day, officials say that more than three quarters of the power is out in the region.
In Jefferson parish, authorities say with approximately 83 percent of the parish without power, it is straining the sewerage system.
In addition, Bourbon Street in New Orleans also lost power.
After passing through Louisiana, the Hurricane Center projected Zeta’s path through the rest of the country.
“Zeta will then move close to the Mississippi coast this evening, and move across the southeastern and eastern United States on Thursday,” the Hurricane Center said earlier on Wednesday.
