Winter Storm Warning canceled, lingering snow across southern tier Wednesday

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Winter Storm Warning has been canceled by the National Weather Service after an active 48 hours of snowfall across mainly the southtowns and southern tier.

Only an additional couple inches of snow is forecast to accumulate Wednesday, mainly across the southern tier region.

National Weather Service forecaster Heather Kenyon tells WBEN the Buffalo metro area saw a coating of snow but portions of the southtowns saw three inches while up to a foot of snow fell across some targeted areas in higher terrain across the southern tier.

Temperatures will moderate late week and some rain is expected as the weekend approaches according to Kenyon.
