As Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools are getting ready for the new school year, Mark Johnson, NC Superintendent of Public Instruction visited the Pat McCrory show to discuss the issues facing CMS.

Johnson, a former employee of CMS at West Mecklenburg High is very familiar with the challenges the district faces.

On the topic of overcrowding, Johnson said "I have been out there to theses schools in the suburbs and they are bursting at the seams..."

He explained that ther is not a single point of responsibility, not even his position has the power to evoke the type of reform he says is needed.

"That's what 's wrong with this system, that's why we've had so many problems in our schools... everbody can point the finger at somebody else."
