Major League Soccer authorized its expansion committee to enter final negotiations with David Tepper to bring the league’s 30th franchise to Charlotte.
One of the final negotiation points is a matter of 100 million dollars to fund stadium renovations to make Bank of America Stadium "MLS ready".
Pat McCrory has experience with these type of deals and has word of advice for North Carolina and Charlotte officials on how to handle the MLS.
"My message to the Mayor, City Council, County Commission and Governor Cooper, you're standing from strength now. Charlotte is no longer desperate for these professional teams. It's their privilege to come to us, not the other way around."
