Ray Stagich of The Weather Channel joined Bo Thompson Thursday on WBT's Morning News. Isaias has caused Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, and the Dominican Republic to issue tropical storm warnings.

Currently moving NW at speeds around 21 mph, Isaias may impact the Carolinas, although it is unlikely. Stagich commented "it's not the best forecast, or the best guess right now, but there is a chance that the center comes on shore somewhere in South Carolina and stays to the left," impacting North Carolina.

"The best forecast track right now" could take the Isaias across the Outer Banks "as either a strong tropical storm, or some models are taking it to a hurricane," Stagich said. "That's all going to depend on how long it stays out over very warm and above average water."
