Sweet Spot: Stocking Up On Unusual 'Essentials' Before COVID-19 Quarantine

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Before the run up to social distancing, people were told to prepare to be hold-up for two weeks.

To some people, that meant food. To others, that meant food and drink.

WCBS 880’s Mike Sugerman headed out during the panic buying madness to a few liquor stores, where owners said they were seeing sales similar to the week before Thanksgiving – when everyone is buying enough liquor to host large parties.

While there’s not large gatherings happening amid the coronavirus outbreak, it seems there’s plenty of people making the most of a difficult situation.
