WASHINGTON (WCBS 880) -- A man set himself on fire outside the White House on Wednesday.

Video posted to Twitter showed the man engulfed in flames on the Ellipse near 15th and Constitution Avenue around 12:20 p.m.

Krisjan Berzins said his daughter "saw a person that was on fire running across the White House lawn." He said all surrounding streets were closed as first responders came to the scene.

The Secret Service, National Park Service and U.S. Park Police rendered first aid to the unidentified man.

The Washington Fire Department told CNBC that they transported one patient with burns from the scene.

His condition is not known.

A similar incident last month prompted a lockdown at the White House.
