Mourners Remember RBG At Manhattan Vigil: 'She Was A Champion'

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – People came together in Washington Square Park on Saturday night to celebrate the life of late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

A candlelight vigil was held near the fountain, with many wearing white a day after Ginsburg died at the age of 87.

Becky from Greenwich Village said Ginsburg’s death was sad on a personal level but that the politics was inescapable.

“I felt like it was important to come and pay respects to a woman who had an amazing career and did so much for our country,” she said. “It’s an easy thing to stand up. And we all need to stand up more.”
