NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A water-main break at Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn on Wednesday caused some chaos and delays during the morning rush.

L train service has resumed service between 1 Avenue and Myrtle Avenue but with extensive delays in both directions.

MTA workers were able to remove any water off the tracks and ran test trains through the Canarsie tunnel, deeming the tracks safe for service.

Manhattan-bound J and Z trains have resumed normal service after L train riders were accommodated due to the street-level water main break that occurred in Williamsburg.

According to the MTA, some 8 Av-bound L trains were running on the J line from Broadway Junction and ending at Chambers Street.

J and Z trains were making express stops from Broadway Junction to Marcy Avenue and free shuttle buses were making L stops between Myrtle Avenue and Lorimer Street.

Customers are still urged to take nearby 3, A, C, J, or M trains and connecting bus service.
