NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — "Cake Boss" star Buddy Valastro suffered a serious hand injury in a "terrible" bowling accident at his home in New Jersey.
His right hand got stuck in the pinsetter at his home bowling alley over the weekend.
A rep tells E! News that a one-and-a-half inch rod impaled his hand three times before his teenage sons were able help him cut the rod with a saw.
On Wednesday, Valastro shared a photo of himself on social media in a hospital bed with his arm in cast.
"I was involved in a terrible accident a few days ago... What do you think of my new accessory?" he wrote.
In an Instagram story he said, "I had a really bad accident the other day at my house," and thanked his followers for their support. "We're going to get through this together."
He said he was receiving the "best care possible" at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Valastro, who owns the famed Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, is recovering at home and will require physical therapy.
