NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A 35-year-old man was arrested Friday, two days after a 2-year-old boy was slashed across the face as the child was being pushed in a stroller in Manhattan.
Anthony Gonzalez, of Manhattan, faces charges of felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The boy was slashed near West 110th Street and Morningside Drive around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say the suspect cut the boy above his right eye with an unknown sharp object.
The boy needed several stitches, but is expected to be okay.
On Thursday, the NYPD released surveillance video of a suspect fleeing the scene on foot while covering his face with his shirt.
