JERSEY CITY, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- Officials joined members of the Jewish community in lighting a menorah outside of the kosher market in Jersey City where three people were killed in a shooting.

The brother of Mindy Ferencz, co owner of the market said his sister lit the world with her smile, adding "may the light of our candles shine away the darkness".

The widow of market employee Miguel Rodriguez was also in the crowd.

"El odio no puede contra el amor," Rodriguez said which translates to "Hate cannot conquer love".

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said the attack brought out the worst and best of humanity, and the community will never be divided by hate.
