ALBANY, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has introduced "New York State Clean" — a hand sanitizer made by the State of New York in response to price gouging and supply shortages.

Cuomo said it has 75% alcohol and joked that it has a "very nice floral bouquet," but later clarified that he detects a hint of citrus.

The hand sanitizer will be provided to government agencies, schools, the MTA, and prisons, and will also be distributed to New Rochelle — which has been a hotspot for the virus.

"It’s much cheaper to make it ourselves than to buy it on the open market," Cuomo said.
