Teen Beaten, Stabbed After Yeezy Sneaker Sale Goes Wrong In Queens

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A 19-year old was ambushed in July after arranging a meetup to sell a pair of Yeezy sneakers, according to police.

The meetup, arranged on Snapchat, was to take place around 10 p.m. on July 15. Police say the buyer’s username was Kenziedaghost on Snapchat.

Authorities say the 19-year-old was waiting on 46th Street in Sunnyside for the buyer when he was surrounded by seven unidentified males.

The victim, who was not in possession of the Yeezy sneakers at the time, was then attacked by the men. Police say he was repeatedly punched and kicked before an unidentified male stabbed the 19-year-old in the back.

The NYPD says the attackers then stole the victim’s sneakers off his feet, a pair of Nike Raptors valued at around $200.

The men fled the scene on foot and EMS were called to assist the victim. He was transported to Elmhurst Hospital Center in stable condition.

Photos and video released by police show five of the seven suspects. A man wearing a hood, mask and eyeglasses is believed to be the one who stabbed the victim.
