NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A 74-year-old woman was fatally struck while crossing a Queens street Wednesday night police say.
Officials say the victim, 74-year-old J Ok Kang was hit by a 2015 Jeep Cherokee going west just after 5:50 p.m. as Kang attempted to cross the street mid-block on Northern Blvd., near Parsons Blvd. in the Flushing section.
EMS rushed the victim to New York Presbyterian Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver, a 43-year-old man stayed on the scene.
There have been no arrests made so far.
This is the city’s first pedestrian fatality of 2020.
