NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – An NYPD officer reportedly broke her wrist after she kicked onto the tracks at a Harlem subway station.

The officer was patrolling the 125th Street station at Lexington Avenue early Friday morning when she and her partner tried to take an alleged fare-beater into custody, according to the Daily News.

Video shot by a bystander shows a man kicking at the officer repeatedly. One kick caused her to fall backwards onto the tracks, video shows.

Anquando Johnson, 25, faces charges of assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment and theft of service.

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea reacted to the video on Twitter.

“For the second time in a week, a video captures what NYC police officers face every day on the front lines,” Shea wrote. “Despite suffering a serious injury at the hands of this career criminal, we’re lucky the outcome wasn’t much worse. An assault on a police officer is an attack on us all.”
