5 face charges after authorities shut down unlicensed bar in Queens

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Authorities shut down a party at an unlicensed bar in Queens early Saturday morning.

More than 300 people packed a building on Junction Avenue and 35th Avenue in Jackson Heights.

The New York City Sheriff'c Office said the operators were cited for violating COVID restrictions and for having no liquor license. Four egresses were also bolted shut.

Authorities say five people have been charged with various misdemeanors.
