Demario Davis says his 1-year old daughter is cancer free

New Orleans linebacker Demario Davis had some great news to share after the Saints beat San Francisco on Sunday evening.

His one-year old daughter, Carly-Faith Davis, is cancer free.

Carly-Faith was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma in May, which caused a tumor to form behind her left eye and required the eye to be surgically removed.

She now has a prosthetic eye.

"I'm a person that just never try to take anything for granted and to know what she's been through, even to the point of having to lose her eye, but her body is free of cancer," Davis told TMZ.

Davis, 31, told TMZ that he is grateful for the treatment his daughter received and the family will continue to try and bring awareness to the rare eye disease mostly seen in young children.

"We're able to use her story and bring awareness to a lot of families that probably wouldn't of known about it if it wasn't for us going through it," he said.

Davis is in his ninth season in the NFL and third with the Saints. He signed a three-year, $27 million extension with the team this offseason.
