The chemistry between Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs in their first season together has been among the best QB-WR duos in the NFL this season, and Saturday night showed why.
Allen connected with Diggs eight times for 106 yards and a touchdown in the Buffalo Bills’ 17-3 Divisional Round playoff win over the Baltimore Ravens for the franchise’s first trip to the AFC Championship game since 1993.
But it was the postgame interview where Diggs made another catch – stopping short of cussing – while showing his appreciation for his quarterback.
Asked by NBC’s Michelle Tafoya what he would have thought if Allen told him the Bills would be this close to the Super Bowl before the season started, Diggs replied:
“I would have believed him. Just cause, for the sole fact, playing with this guy, practicing with this guy, he’s a guy who could do it.
“As a player, you just wanna play for him. He works hard, he busts his ah – oh, a-word – he busts his a-word. I just love this guy, man. That’s it.”
It is clear that Diggs and Allen both needed each other. The duo put up career numbers this year – Diggs hauling in a league-leading 127 catches and 1,535 yards while Allen threw for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns.
Now, the two have the Bills one win away from the Super Bowl and a chance to become immortalized in the city of Buffalo.
